Bitter Pill

After an amazing and delicious dinner with a new friend from church, I come home to...a revelation! This might have saved my poor Michael. His stroke necessitated a feeding tube through his nose, and then permanently implanted into his stomach...a routine procedure that caused him internal bleeding and eventual death:( If he'd had the option of food glorious food without the tube disastrous tube, everything could have been different. Elderly and ill patients would stay with us much longer! Sigh...if only:( But I'm a firm believer that everything that happens is what's supposed to happen, even if it's tragic. This would have helped then, but THINK how much it will help now!

Possibilities

Wow! So it's been a week since I posted! I guess sometimes my Facebook posts feel like I've shared enough of myself, leaving very little room for blog sharing:( So what can I say? Christmas is here! Well just about. I'm bound for home in a couple of days--just two! I still haven't packed! But I've been writing a list of things I don't want to forget to bring, for a week or two now. As of this moment I'm looking forward to the morning; it's mine and my fiance's "Christmas" from the year we were together. He loved the solstice, and I was too in love with him to mind that it wasn't "THE DAY." I think that's what love is all about; changing your routine and the other person changing theirs so the two halves can fit together:) Anyway, the best part of it for me, at the time, was that it was like I was a kid at Christmas again, all wide-eyed and excited:) I had that wonderful, exceedingly rare feeling like ANYTHING could hap...

Too Anxious

Good Morning, Lovelies! Feeling very anxious today:( Just personal insecurities and worries about the future--amorphous, baseless, and with nowhere to rest:( I can't make myself "put it down." Anxiety rates around the country are extremely high, after all. And it makes me feel a little better to know I'm not alone. Indeed, with Quarantine/Lockdown forcing us all to distance ourselves and avoid each other and BE alone--any connection at all is a comfort. Adding fuel to my anxious fire this morning is that I found out I can't proceed with a pet adoption I'd been committed to since last week. So much for reducing my anxiety with a little fur ball:) I'll have to find some other way. I haven't entirely given up. As a result though, of course, my energy is drained. All my optimism has fizzled right out, and I'm just about ready to crawl back into bed. But of course I can't do that; there are still things I've been planning to do today. So...

Everyone should see this. The double stall is not for the comfort of able-bodied individuals without a mobility aid. The double stall is a public facility's bare minimum compliance with the ADA requirements mandated in 1990. That is how many centuries we have had to deal with a world that never acknowledged our presence before .
